The Great Commission, given by Jesus just before He ascended into Heaven, is this: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18b-20, NIV). Following Jesus’ command and example, we seek to reach the city of Austin, the nation, and the world with the Gospel.
Jesus [said], “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (Matthew 22:37-39, NIV).
A thousand thanks for your generous contributions to our Mission Possible drives across the past years. Serving Mission Possible is a great way to make a real difference in the lives of people right here in Austin. As you know, this has been a difficult time for the homeless and lower-income families in Austin. We hold drives for socks, diapers, food, and other provisions to support Mission Possible throughout the year. Contact Garland at [email protected] for more information!
Church Under the Bridge (CUB), coordinated through our ministry partner Mission Possible, is a combined effort of the body of Christ throughout the Austin area. At CUB, those who attend will have the opportunity to be a part of worship, which includes live music, prayer, fellowship and a down-to-earth Gospel message. While many of those who attend are homeless, Church Under the Bridge is a place for all to come and worship God.
Several Sundays per year, we have the opportunity to join together with other churches at CUB to serve the community there. Our regular services still meet, so that all members can attend whichever place they choose. Watch for the newsletter to get more details on upcoming events!
Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) is comprised of nearly 200 Greater Austin churches and thousands of trained volunteers bringing hope into crisis. ADRN’s network enables and empowers church members to organize, prepare, mobilize, and respond quickly in the event of disaster, great or small. 5twelve is one of the many churches involved in ADRN efforts. Want to be the hands and feet of Jesus when disaster strikes? Contact Kirsten at [email protected] for more information.
